About Reelative

Reelative started with something I can't get back.

A few years ago, my grandmother passed away. I still talk about her often. I tell stories about the way she lived, the way she spoke, the way she showed up for the people around her. But over time, I've realized something I didn't expect.

Those memories don't stay as sharp as you think they will.

I can describe her. I can explain what she meant to me. But that's not the same as hearing her voice or watching her tell a story the way only she could. And my kids will never experience that part of her at all. They'll only know the version of her that I'm able to pass down.

    That's where this started.

It made me think about how much quietly disappears in families. Not because people don't care. Not because the stories aren't meaningful. But because no one ever gets around to recording them while there's still time.

Reelative is a simple way to change that.

Each week, a few thoughtful prompts give you something to respond to. Short recordings. Nothing complicated. Over time, those small moments turn into something much bigger. A collection of stories, told in your own voice, that the people you care about can come back to whenever they want.

There are plenty of ways to write things down. That matters. But there's something different about seeing someone smile in the middle of a story, or hearing the way their voice shifts when something really mattered to them. That part doesn't carry over on paper.

This is about holding onto that.

The goal isn't perfection. It's not about saying things the right way or capturing everything. It's just about making sure more of it stays.

So that years from now, when someone wonders what you were like, they don't have to piece it together secondhand.

    They can see you.

    They can hear you.

They can know you a little more directly than memory alone allows.

That's what Reelative is here for.
